We had an amazing family vacation at this lodge! It is absolutely perfect for getaway to explore the Alaskan wilderness but enjoy high end amenities and food. We stayed for 4 nights in August and had a wonderful time. The Lodge: It is a beautiful lodge set in a serene setting (the pictures online don't do it justice). The property has beautiful ocean views, 2 well kept ponds on the property, rolling grassy hills with mature trees, and cute flower, fruit and veg gardens. The inside of the lodge is a picture perfect luxurious cabin that has large sleeping rooms, an open floor plan, and lots of personal touches. The Food: Is easily comparable to the fanciest 5 star restaurants we have eaten at. Lucinda amazed us meal after meal. Also, every dinner is ended with an yummy dessert and coffee. The Activities: We loved that everything was set up for us and personalized to what worked for our family (my husband is outdoorsy and I am high maintenance). We kayaked, hiked, fished, did lots of exploring and wildlife watching on the boats, and could have done much more if we had stayed longer. The guide is extremely knowledgeable answering our endless questions and teaching us all about the area and animals. He also went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our adventures. Countless times he helped with our little one, took family photos, helped search for bathroom spots in the wilderness, gave tips to help with our fishing or paddling techniques. The Hosts: Are delightful. They were so kind to our family and made us feel right at home. They offered just the right amount of companionship, yet still the right amount of private time needed for our family. Cons: Other guests. Like all lodges and B&Bs we have stayed at there are other guests that we spent part of the day with and since we didn't hit it off well with them, it could be awkward. The hosts and guide seemed to sense this and did their best to keep the conversation neutral and flowing when we were together. I'm sure there are times when the other guests make the stay more enjoyable, but that is the one con of our stay. I really can't say enough good things about our stay at this lodge. If you are thinking about booking it, do it! You will love it! I like potatos
